Hi, I’m Sherelle Smith

I believe people have a natural capacity to heal and grow when they feel safe, supported, and understood.

My approach is rooted in person-centered values. Empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard shape how I connect with every client. I see counseling as a collaborative space where you can explore who you are and move toward the changes you want to make.

To support that work, I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These tools help clients see how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another, and build practical skills for navigating difficult moments. I value DBT’s balance of acceptance and change, which reflects the compassion and accountability I aim to bring to each session.

I also use solution-focused techniques to highlight your strengths and small wins, so you can build on what’s already working. A trauma-informed lens guides me in creating safety and a sense of empowerment, recognizing how past experiences can shape present struggles.

Above all, I see therapy as a partnership built on trust and hope. My role isn’t to “fix” you. It’s to walk alongside you as you discover your own capacity for healing, resilience, and growth.
